Laura Weir is Announced as the new CEO of the British Fashion Council
Laura Weir will be succeeding Caroline Rush CBE as Chief Executive Officer for the British Fashion Council, effective as of the 28th of April 2025.
To provide sufficient time for a seamless handover, Caroline Rush will exit the business in June 2025, closing the current financial year (24/25). The news of her departure from the company does not come as a shock, having announced her intended leave last year, following her 15-year milestone leading the brand.
Coming from a background of knowledge and experience, Weir is the creative director at Selfridges. She is also an experienced fashion journalist, contributing to publications like British Vogue and The Sunday Times.
The British Fashion Council is a non-profit organisation, that is driven in its commitments to help expand the industry and provide opportunities for talent. As CEO, Weir will work alongside designers, industry partners and government bodies, helping to pioneer programmes to help create positive change and innovative development in the fashion industry.
