Major Leadership Announcement at Kering

On Monday 18th of November, the Kering group produced a statement regarding the appointment of new CEOs for 2 of their fashion brands: Saint Laurent and Balenciaga. 

Effective as of January 2nd 2025, Cédric Charbit will take over from Francesca Bellettini as CEO of Saint Laurent. Charbit has had prior experience with Saint Laurent, joining Kering in 2012 as product strategy director. He also has experience in a CEO position, having been appointed in 2016 for CEO of Balenciaga, a role in which he will step away from in the new year.  Under Charbit, Balenciaga became one of the top performing brands in the Kering group, offering promise for the future of Saint Laurent.

Balenciaga will see the appointment of Gianfranco Gianangeli as the new Chief Executive Officer for the brand. Most recently Gianangeli has worked for the OTB group as CEO of Maison Margiela. Despite stepping away from the Kering group in more recent years, he has formerly worked within the Kering-owned brand Bottega Veneta, in 2006. Gianangeli has also gained experience with brands such as Prada, Pucci and Printemps.
